Thelma E. Evenrud

Thelma E. Evenrud, 90, of Preston, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2000 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Thelma Wilson was born on February 18,1910, in Preston the daughter of Henry and Leona (Klein) Wilson. In 1928 she graduated from Preston High School and after this went on to Normal Training also in Preston. She then taught country school in Fillmore County for several years. In December 1937 she was united in marriage to James Evenrud in Preston. The couple made their home and farmed in the Preston area all their lives. James passed away on December 31, 1987. Thelma continued to live on the family farm until April of this year. Thelma was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aide.

She is survived by two sisters, Christie Collett and Marjorie Wilson both of Preston and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, two brothers and one sister.

A funeral service for Thelma Evenrud was held on Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, with Revs. James Rushton and Bernard Deiker co-officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston. Thauwald Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
