Orvis Carrol Paulson died suddenly of a heart attack on September 30, 2001 at his home in St Louis Park, MN.

Orvis Carrol Paulson was born on November 24, 1940 to Elvin Ingval Paulson and Emily Gilbertson Paulson in Rushford, MN. His childhood was spent on a farm in rural Peterson (Arendahl), MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Arendahl Lutheran Church. He attended Wraalstad Country School for eight years and the Peterson High School for four years, graduating in 1958. He attended The Lutheran Bible Institute. He farmed for some years on the family farm near Houston and joined the US Army in 1963 and served in Germany in the Military Police after discharge in 1965. He attended Minneapolis Business College and worked as an insurance adjuster, later forming his own company Casualty Property Associates and also worked for General Security Services Corp. Orvis was married to Nancy Dummer in St Louis Park on April 27, 1968 and they were later divorced. On March 27, 1999 he was married to Charlene Anderson in Eden Prairie, MN.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Charlene Paulson; sons Brian (Andria) and Kevin (Callie); daughter Jodi; stepsons Keith and Craig VanDerSchaegen; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Gordon and Dennis, Houston, MN; sisters Sylvia Markegard, Peterson, MN and Edith Syftestad, Richland Center, WI; 1 nephew and several nieces.

The funeral service for Mr. Paulson was Oct 4, 2001 at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie, MN, with interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
