• The following local students were placed on the Spring Semester 2001 President's and Dean's Lists at Riverland Community College: Joshua Shofner of Harmony, Molly Holst of Lanesboro, Chantal McNamara of Lime Springs, IA, Dirk Lecy of Spring Valley.

• The following area students have made the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Dean's Lists for Spring Semester 2001. The students are: Kelly Erdman, Harmony, Brit Ofstedal, Harmony, Brent Hadoff, Preston, Amanda Bovy, Rushford, Rebecca Burmeister, Sarah Burmeister, Ashley Greene, Carla Temple, all of Spring Valley, Shawn Markham, of Wykoff.

• Serena Pierson, a graduate of Fillmore Central High School, has been awarded a $2,000 Richard P. Erickson Scholar-ship by Lifetouch, the largest employee-owned photography company in North America. Pierson will attend the University of Minnesota, Twin Citiies, majoring in premedicine.

• Sarah Yeo, formerly of RR Preston (1998 Graduate of Fillmore Central High School) graduated with Honors from Central Arizona College, Coolidge, AZ, receiving an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing; she was named the outstanding nursing student of the year.
