Swen J. Swenson, age 81, of rural Fort Dodge, Iowa, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge.

Swen J. Swenson was born October 8, 1919 in Harmony, the son of Swen N. and Mabel (Mattison) Swenson. He was raised in the area and following his education worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He served with the United States Army during World War II. Following his military service, he worked with his brother. He settled in Iowa and continued to work at Farm Egg, Inc. In 1982, he was united in marriage to Mary L. Duis in Forsythe, Missouri.

Survivors include his spouse Mary Swenson, Fort Dodge; son Dennis Duis, Fort Dodge; daughters, Rose Duis, Fort Dodge; Ruth Oleson, Bono, Ark.; and Karen Rappel, Dakota City, Iowa; five grandchildren; brother Gordon Swenson, Granger; sister Dagney Ekganer, Fort Dodge; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.

Graveside services were held at the North Lawn Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Don Mann officiating.
