Jessa Kay Slostad

Jessa Kay Slostad, 20, daughter of Paul and Carla Slostad of Apple Valley, MN, formerly of Preston, died of cystic fibrosis on April 10, 2002, at Minneapolis Children's Hospital.

Born July 5, 1981, in Shakopee, MN, she graduated from Minneapolis Lutheran High School, where she lettered in four sports and was active in music. She was a junior at Luther College in Decorah, IA, where she was majoring in social work. She enjoyed playing outdoor sports and fishing.

In addition to her parents, survivors include a sister, Jasmyn (Michael) Curry; maternal grandparents, Carl and Arlene Bakalyar of Preston; and paternal grandmother, Alvira Slostad of Preston. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Elmer Slostad.

The funeral for Jessa Kay Slostad was April 13, 2002 at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rosemount, MN. Burial was in Rosemount Lutheran Cemetery. White Funeral Home in Apple Valley was in charge of arrangements.
