1st DistrictI graduated from Peterson High School in 1951 and the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture in St. Paul in 1953. I've had the opportunity to represent the people of the First District in Fillmore County for 26 years. I presently farm with my son Mike in Arendahl Township on the Boyum family farm.
As a county commissioner, I have served on many committees and boards representing Fillmore County, including: Semcac; Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center; Dodge, Olmsted, Fillmore County Corrections; Fillmore County Extension; Fillmore County DAC; Fillmore County Community Health Services; Association of Minnesota Counties - currently serving on the Agriculture & Transportation Advisory Board.
Outside of county commissioner work, I am active in 4-H and serve as President of the Arendahl Lutheran Church. I have also served as a member of the Arendahl Cemetery Association, Peterson School Board and the Good Shepherd Nursing Home Foundation Board of Directors.
I want to use the experience that I have received in the county and the state level of government in a positive way for Fillmore County residents.
I enjoy the satisfaction I receive by making decisions that affect the present time and our future. People of Fillmore County are important to me.
