Keith David Braun

Keith David Braun, 55, of Spring Valley, owner of Valley Lanes, died August 8, 2001 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Born Dec. 16, 1945, in Minneapolis, he graduated from high school in Mound, Minn., in 1963 and served in the Navy from Aug. 12, 1963, to Jan. 23, 1964. On Oct. 23, 1976, he married Geraldine "Geri" Laumann at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Watertown, Minn. He worked for UMCO in Watertown from 1976 to 1979 and then moved to Rush City, Minn., and was production manager for the company producing fishing and medical boxes from 1979 to 1983. In August 1983 the family moved to Spring Valley and he and his wife purchased Valley Lanes. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eric and Ryan, both at home; his mother, Louise (Hoffman) Braun of Shakopee, Minn.; and a sister, Nancy (Bruce) McLaughlin of Brooklyn Park, Minn. His father and a brother preceded him in death.

The funeral was held August 11, 2001 at First English Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, with the Rev. Robert Burmeister officiating. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in Spring Valley was in charge of arrangements.
