Fillmore County Journal - Fillmore County Sports

Spring Grove volleyball went 6-1 on the week, beating G-E and Lanesboro in SEC play, going 4-1 at the Goodhue Tourney. Their only loss there was to #3 in AA Chatfield, and the Lions took third. Kelsey Morken’s group (10-2, 20-6) got to 20 wins.

R-P volleyball got 24 digs and 5 aces from Torryn Schneider in a sweep of W-K. The Trojans (4-5, 14-11) went 3-2 at the Goodhue Tourney, taking second to Chatfield. Schneider had 73 digs at the event.

Caledonia got 22 kills from Liv Myhre and 20 kills from Logan Koepke, plus 38 assists from Emma Rommes, in downing PEM 3-2 (22-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-13, 15-12). The Warriors came back to win after trailing 2-1. It is the second time they have done that this year (Z-M). Rommes then had 31 assists in a 3-0 sweep of D-E, which was Cal’s 20th win.

Fillmore Central won its only match of the week, sweeping Cotter 3-0. The #7 in A Falcons (8-1, 17-5) have won four in a row and are tied for second with Caledonia (8-1, 22-5) in the TRC behind Chatfield (9-0, 23-2).

Houston ended a 9-match losing streak by beating G-E in five sets (25-15, 26-28, 25-21, 23-25, 15-10). Kadence Aarsvold had 20 digs, but Kingsland fell to L/P 3-0.

Aden Kulas ran for 159 yards and 2 TDs on 37 carries as Houston football beat Southland 36-6. The Hurricanes (3-3, 4-3) ended a three-game losing streak.

Corbin Ludemann ran for 209 yards 2 TDs on 33 carries as GM beat Lanesboro 26-22. The Larks (1-5, 1-6) picked up their first win.
