I just finished reading Stan Gudmundson's article entitled "Over the Cliff" in which he insults the president, the majority of the voters in the last election, the Muslims of the world, anyone who considers a liberal grace-filled approach to life as appropriate and everyone else who does not adhere to his personal beliefs. My first response was anger but was soon replaced by sadness and pity for Mr. Gudmundson. His obvious hatred and disgust for those who do not feel the way he does put him in dangers of becoming like the far right radical terrorists he rants about and shows that he has lost hope in our country. As a person who loves this country, has a great respect for those who serve and have served this country and believes it is the diversity of the people who continue to make this country great it hurts to be considered daft and to have a screw loose by a man who has never even met me. 1 Peter 3: 8-11 says, "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it."
This is good advice that I hope Mr Gudmundson can come to understand so that maybe he can help to incite peace instead of anger.

The country's problems are not due to liberalism. The Colonel should address the real problem in this country: CONGRESS, and particularly, the House and the extreme wing of his party. They are the real reason this country is regressing, not moving forward and in the mess it is. His attitude and attacks are the reason his party have lost five of the last six elections, and why this country is so polarized. Get over it, Colonel.
