Three Rivers Conference

Chatfield’s Connor Jax and Triton’s Owen Petersohn get all tangled up fighting for the ball in the teams’ non-conference affair. Gopher Cole Johnson is also notably in the background. Chatfield won the game 77-68, part of the Gophers’ “sweep” week.

Fillmore Central 45, Lewiston-Altura 95 (FC: Will Parker 11 pts, 5 rebs; L. Hellickson 8 pts. Cardinals Thomas Menk (25), Collin Bonow (23), Kyle Frederickson (23) combined for 71 points. L-A is unbeaten at 9-0)

#5 in A Rushford-Peterson 54, Wabasha-Kellogg 18 (R-P: Dawson Bunke 17 pts (5-7 threes); Malachi Bunke 7 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts; Grady Hengel 7 pts, 6 rebs; Andrew Hoiness 3 pts (1-3 FGs), 8 rebs, 3 asts, 6 stls; Justin Ruberg 5 pts (2-4 FGs), 7 rebs, 4 asts. Six different Trojans hit a three led by D-Bunke, as the team shot 11 of 27 from distance (41%). They also hit 9 of 12 from the line (75%). The 18-points against was a season-low. No team has scored 50 on R-P)

#3 in AA Caledonia 92, Dover-Eyota 68 (C: E. King 28 pts; J. Koepke 21 pts; Chris Pieper 14 pts; Mason King 8 pts; Thane Meiners 8 pts. Warriors put half-a-hundo on Eagles in first half, 50-31. They scored a season-high point-total)

Southeast Conference

Kingsland 53, Schaeffer Academy 32 (K: Walker Erdman 15 pts (4-4 FTs), 10 rebs; J. Brink 10 pts. Knights made 12 of 15 free throws (80%). The 32 points scored against the Knights was a then season-best)

Chatfield’s Sam Backer and Fillmore Central’s Jake Fishbaugher battle for the ball, as Gopher Isaac Stevens notably looks on. In an offensive game, Chatfield posted an 86-65 win, as they improved to 6-1 on the year.

Spring Grove 67, Mabel-Canton 32 (SG: Caleb Griffin 16 pts (5-6 FGs, 5-7 FTs); T. Grinde 15 pts, 7 rebs, 7 stls; Carson Gerard 11 pts (7-9 FTs), 6 rebs; E. Solum 8 pts, 5 rebs; Jacob Olerud 8 pts. M-C: Jaymeson Tollefsrud 11 pts; Jordan Larson 10 pts (4-4 FTs); Cayden Tollefsrud 5 pts, 3 rebs, 3 asts, 5 stls. SG scored the first 16 points in each half. Grinde notably had three open-court dunk attempts in a row (slamming down two). Jaxon Strinmoen also had a dunk and Grinde another baby dunk. Lions hit 25 of 33 free throws (76%))

Southland 59, Lanesboro 46 (L: J. Prestemon 17 pts (8-16 FGs), 6 rebs, 5 asts; P. Storhoff 12 pts; S. Schultz 8 pts, 7 rebs. Threes: Lanes 2 of 26 (8%), S 6 of 21 (29%). FTs: L 2 of 4 (50%), S 9 of 15 (60%). Burros > 1-4, 3-5)

Spring Grove 58, Schaeffer Academy 14 (SG: E. Solum 30 pts (11-16 FGs, 5-7 threes), 5 rebs; T. Grinde 20 pts, 9 rebs 7 asts, 6 stls. SG remained undefeated after five SEC games with all other East Division rivals having lost at least three SEC games. SG limited Schaeffer to only one point in the second half. Rebs: SG 33, SA 11. SG’s Carson Gerard didn’t play (ill). SG had 19 steals, 20 offensive rebounds, SA 14 points)

They again held an opponent to a season-low points total)

Mabel-Canton 69, Houston 44 (M-C: A. Arneson 20 pts (8-11 FGs, 4-4 FTs), 11 rebs; J. Tollefsrud 14 pts (6-9 FGs), 7 rebs; C. Tollefsrud 14 pts (6-7 FTs), 9 rebs, 7 asts, 3 stls; J. Larson 11 pts, 4 asts. H: T. Kubitz 15 pts, 10 rebs; Carter Geiwitz 14 pts, 5 rebs. Cougars hit 15 of 19 FTs (79%). M-C > 2-3, 4-5. Houston > 0-4, 0-9)

Non-Conference

Grand Meadow 42, #6 in A Hayfield 70 (GM: R. Warmka 22 pts (6-8 FTs), 10 rebs, 4 asts; J. Kraft 13 pts. H: Easton Fritcher 20 pts, 12 rebs, 7 asts, 5 stls. Warmka and Kraft went 14 of 30 FGs (35 points). All other Larks went 3-of 22 FGs (14%))

#3 in AA Caledonia 80, Byron 64 (C: E. King 28 pts, 6 rebs; J. Koepke 23 pts (four threes), 7 rebs; C. Pieper 10 pts; Ja’Shon Simpson 9 pts. B: Jaxon Marine 20 pts, 8 rebs. King scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half on 8 of 9 field goals. Caledonia shot well over 50% in the second half, expanding a 34-27 halftime lead, at one point leading by 25)
