On April 1, 2017, the Rochester Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, commonly referred to as the “DAR,” hosted their annual awards program. The awards program was held at History Center of Olmsted County, in Rochester, Minn. In attendance to receive an award was Fillmore County Sheriff Tom Kaase and Fillmore County Deputy Jessy Betts. The local DAR chapter made a donation of four ballistic shields to the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Kaase expressed his sincere gratitude for the generosity of the DAR organization while receiving this donation. The Sheriff also went on to explain how the addition of these ballistic shields to the Sheriff’s Office will help to enhance not only the safety of Fillmore County Law Enforcement Officers, but also the Citizens of Fillmore County.
